I have just found this defninition of a “Cancer Survivor”. There are some other defninitions which are a bit more detailed but this is the one I choose for its simplicity:
A cancer survivor is an individual with cancer of any type, current or past, who is still living.
It without doubt applies to ME – so I can shout from the rooftops
“I am a cancer survivor”
That’s what I call a good start to the weekend 🙂
The dictionary defines survive as follows:
intransitive verb 1 : to remain alive or in existence : live on 2 : to continue to function or prosper
So you are very much a survivor! And long may you survive to live a healthy and happy life x
Thanks – that is so beautifully put! From one survivor to another – big hugs xx
I met with my Onc on Wed [Dr Oh So Luv-ver-ly ;)] and we were discussing whether I should have my ovaries out. He said he was concerned that the side effects of this were osteoporosis and cardiac problems. It wasn’t until afterwards that I appreciated that he was talking about my wellbeing in 10, 20, 30 years time! I guess he thinks I am a survivor!! Yeah!
Big hugs – Px
Fantastic! Isn’t it interesting how we see things through the short term lens first…… Delighted to hear about Dr Oh So Luv-very-ly’s long term view 🙂 Definitely survivor talk! Hugs P x
